Jeter Negotiations Update

Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated just tweeted that the Yankees have informed Jeter that they will increase their $45 million, 3-year offer to close to $50 million. Heyman ended the tweet with the statement "ball in his court now." Sounds like the Yankees may have made their final offer. Hopefully word from Jeter's camp will come within the next 24 hours.

Via Brian Costa of the Wall Street Journal, yesterday's meeting included Hal Steinbrenner, Brian Cashman, Jeter, Casey Close Jeter's lawyer and President Randy Levine. The meeting lasted 4 hours.
